A relatively new phenomenon has started recently. Maybe the last 20 or 30 or maybe even a little more, but since the past 10 years it seems to be establishing itself very solidly, concretely and in a way that suggests that it is here to stay permanently. This is the phenomenon of "Universality". One that of the citizens of different countries coming together to become the denizens of the world. Non-believers may dismiss this as an idealist post, but on scrutiny one couldn't fail to notice how rapidly this spirit is growing.
America, as a continent and more precisely, New York, as a city, seems to be this giant cauldron in which have been put people from all different corners of the world, as an experiment to conjure a place that is universal in nature. And if you ask me, I'd say that the soup is brewing well, better than anyone may have expected. This can be realized by a simple walk on the streets of NYC.
No longer does an Indian have an exclusive right to Indian food (it is no surprise that often there are lesser indians sitting in an indian restaurant than people of other nationalities). No longer do best friends have to be from the same country. This simple thing proves a gigantic point, that people, whichever part of the earth they be from, can relate in terms of something deeper, deeper than their upbrining, the ways of their country. The basis of connection is a thing deeper than our surface. This, to me, is beautiful: A beautiful start.

Hi,
Thank you for calling at my blog and for reading my poetry. I visited your poetry site and found it contained beautiful,well-crafted, calming dream-like thoughts. This story 'New Phenonenon' is full of truth and wonder. We are all connected by contiguous aims, hopes and desires.
Regards,
Coral
